HIV Expert™
HIV Experts have specialized knowledge in managing the care of patients with or at risk of acquiring HIV. They work in non-clinical settings such as academia, industry, or government. To earn this credential, providers must be a licensed physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant, complete 45 hours of HIV-related continuing education and earn a passing score on the HIV Credentialing Exam every three years.
Earning Criteria
Required
Licensed physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or pharmacist.
Provide direct involvement or leadership in HIV care and treatment, over the 36 months preceding the date of application, through service in one of the following realms:
Pharmaceutical Industry (admin/research/medical affairs)
Academia (admin/faculty)
Government (FDA, NIH, VA, CDC, military, etc.)
Other non-clinical environments without direct patient care activity
Complete 45 credits or activity hours of HIV and/or HCV-related continuing education within the 36 months preceding the date of application.

Earn a passing score on the Academy's HIV Credentialing Exam.
